Pruning in arboriculture is the practice of removing diseased, non-productive, or otherwise unwanted portions from a tree. If pruning is performed incorrectly or poorly negative results will occur causing the risk of decay and fungal colonization. . Pruning, being the basic term for removal of growth, is the fundamental technique used to accomplish many of our other services such as crown raising, crown reduction, thinning, cleaning and shaping.

The removal of lower branches to raise the crown. Crown Raising can be an effective way to allow in extra light.

Removal of outer branches back to suitable growth points to reduce the crown’s overall size, or selected areas to reshape asymmetrical crowns.

Removal of secondary branches from within the crown to reduce its density leaving a balanced tree with even growth throughout. This operation also allows for strong winds to move more freely through the tree’s canopy.

Tree stumps can be removed from any situation, and even from seemingly inaccessible spaces like small back gardens and courtyards. Most stump grinding machines are designed with accessibility in mind. We use mechanized machinery in the grinding up of a tree's stump into a pulp.

The mechanised conversion of wood into woodchips. The client is more then welcome to utilise the woodchips for spreading under trees and flower beds, to keep weeds down and to recycle nutrients back into the soil.

At Wexford Tree Services we have the knowledge of fungal pathogens, which may lead to the structural demise of a tree (partial or total failure). Diagnosis of fungi in tree stock is most important as it may lead to injury or harm to persons or property, leading to prosecution or insurance claim against the tree owner. Managament of trees with respect to fungal species will help in minimising this risk. Early diagnosis can prevent tree failure.
